Sallie Harmsen, artist; painter and actress.

At the age of 19, Sallie Harmsen (1989) received her first Golden Calf nomination (the Dutch equivalent of the Oscar) for Best Actress for her role in THE REAL LIFE (2008), followed by another Best Actress nomination in 2012 for her role in THE SECRETS OF BARSLET (2011). That same year, she graduated from the prestigious Maastricht Academy of Performing Arts, where she was named 'most promising graduate' by a jury of Dutch casting directors.

What followed is a wonderful international career in the arts that took her to many places, including Hollywood, where she co-starred with Jared Leto in BLADE RUNNER 2049. For film and theatre, she has been nominated for and won several awards, including The Silver Cricket (national award for best theatre performance) for Best Actress and a Golden Horse in Milan for Best Actress for her role in the feature film SEA OF TIME. She continues to reinvent herself on screen and in her paintings and drawings. For as long as she can remember, she has been expressing herself through various artistic mediums, of which visual art is one of the most prominent.

Her visual work has previously been exhibited at Museum Casco in Amsterdam, l'Atelier Maastricht in Maastricht and the upcoming Cristel Ballroom gallery in Amsterdam. She travels the world for work and inspiration, but has her working studios based in the vibrant city of Amsterdam and the rugged natural beauty of South West Portugal.

Over time she has experimented with different materials and media, from pencil to oil paint to collage and more.
